Are appointments required for trying on wedding gowns?

Because we believe so strongly in the importance of one on one attention with our clients, we prefer to work on an appointment-based schedule. This enables our bridal consultants to give you, our customers, the time and guidance that is so very crucial with something as important as the purchase of a wedding gown. This exceptional customer service is why Elaine’s of Edmonds has had the longevity and the great reputation in the bridal industry it has had since 1979. Although every attempt is made to assist walk-ins, we may not be able to accommodate you during our busy season without an appointment. We conveniently book appointments Mondays through Saturdays. To schedule an appointment time that works best for you, please contact us by phone at 425-778-1814.

How long does it take to order a wedding gown/bridesmaid dress?

Wedding gowns generally take anywhere from 4-6 months to come in depending on the designer. On occasion, companies will offer a rush cut to be placed on orders to speed up production time with an additional fee of anywhere from $50.00 -- $450.00. Rush order times vary from vendor to vendor but it is an option if a bride is ordering with limited time to spare. Bridesmaid dresses have a general ship time of 3-4 months with the same exceptions as listed above for the wedding gowns regarding rush cuts, although rush cut fees are considerably less from $30.00 -- $80.00. Of course, if a customer should not have any time to order in a gown, we do offer off-the-rack wedding dresses, which are ready to wear from our showroom floor.

Is the merchandise the same at all three store locations?

In order to provide our customers with a larger variety of gowns and accessories to choose from, our three stores carry different merchandise from many different designers.

Is picture taking allowed during gown appointments?

Designers copyright all of their gowns. In order for us to continue holding accounts with these manufacturers, they ask that we don’t allow any photographs of their gowns until an actual dress has been purchased. We do not allow photos in order to protect our vendor’s merchandise. At the time of purchase, however, feel free at that point to take as many photos that you wish!

Do we rent or handle consignment dresses?

Because we truly believe that a wedding gown should be cherished for a lifetime, we do not rent our dresses or consign our gowns. Brides tend to get very attached to their wedding gowns, and we pride ourselves on the fact that we provide our customers with new, never been worn, never been altered, crisp clean wedding gowns for their very special wedding day. We do not handle previously worn gowns, only new gowns manufactured by established designers.

Do we provide alterations and/or pressing on our gowns?

Yes, we have a wonderfully experienced alterations department, which features highly talented and skilled seamstresses. They will provide their services only on gowns that have been purchased through our salon, and there are additional charges for their work. Steaming and hand pressing of gowns is also available on our dresses for an additional fee. Please speak with a consultant for price information.

What forms of payment are offered for purchases at Elaine’s?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards. We will also gladly accept cash, cashier’s checks, and money orders. We apologize, but we do NOT accept personal and/or business checks.

What is Elaine’s of Edmonds return/exchange policy?

ALL SALES ARE FINAL once a sale is finalized. There are no cash refunds allowed per our store policy contract, which the owners strictly enforce.
